ROOKIE ( 9-11)

Rookie classes are designed to help young athletes, ages 7-10, build a solid foundation that they will build upon as they grow. This foundation will also help the athletes prevent future injuries by improving joint stability while helping reduce muscular dysfunctions. These athletes will learn to control and stabilize their bodies through a variety of bodyweight movements. As the athletes build proper coordination and control they will learn proper running mechanics, how to properly accelerate/decelerate, and the proper ways to change direction on the field.

PEE WEE (6-8)

During this important time in a child’s life, youth athletes are in their “skill-hungry” years. The body is primed for new information and ready to ingrain new movement patterns. The Youth program is conducted in 60 minute sessions and designed to introduce and create foundations of overall athleticism in a fun, positive, and high-success environment. Our Youth training places a high priority on running technique, athletic coordination, balance and relative strength and the introduction of essential muscular movement patterns. These are vital in establishing a child’s athletic foundation for improved performance, injury prevention, and long-term enjoyment of sports participation.

JV (12-14)

Our JV program, ages 11-14, has been designed to increase performance while simultaneously reducing the risk of injury. Athletes in the JV group will build upon the foundation that was set in the Rookie classes. Athletes that have not participated in the Rookies classes but are within the age range, 11-14, are still encouraged to join the JV classes. The classes will focus on stabilization/balance, core stability, speed/agility/quickness and properly designed strength training. At this stage in the athletes development they will continue to build joint integrity and build muscle properly through a mix of multi-planar exercises. The JV program is a great way for athletes to build strength and confidence as they prepare for high school sports.

VARSITY (15-18)

The Varsity Sports Performance Training program is ideal for current high school athletes that are looking to gain an edge on the competition. Whether you’re looking to make a varsity team or earn a D1 scholarship, Sports U Varsity Sports Performance Training Program will help you maximize your potential. Athletes in the group will continue to build stabilization and joint integrity through a variety of exercises. Speed, agility, quickness drills will be designed to help athletes maximize their speed in competition. At this level the strength program will start to look very similar to what they will experience at the collegiate level. Sports U Varsity Sports Performance Training Program has helped high school athletes from the following sports go on to the highest level of collegiate athletics: football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, track and field, hockey, volleyball, lacrosse and dance.

1 ON 1 TRAINING

Athletes need to be at their best every time they are on the field of battle: In speed, power and skill. Taking your game to the next level requires improving your strengths and developing your weaknesses. After a performance evaluation and a discussion of your goals, then tailored training comes together: speed and power, skill or a combination of all three.

SPEED: Focusing on proper running mechanics, explosive speed, lateral and linear quickness, and footwork. Utilizing resistance training, ground based training, and Plyometric training, with specialized agility protocols to ensure power and efficiency.

POWER: Every sport and position requires a unique strength program fit to its needs. From hang cleans to body weight exercises, learning the correct mechanics and how to apply that power in competition is key to taking your game to the next level.

SKILL: Understanding the game and applying your new found speed and power is where the training comes together. Sport-specific skill sessions offered by Sports U include; Football, Lacrosse, Baseball/Softball, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Track and Field, Rowing, and Wrestling. If you play a sport that is not on the list, contact us and we will find a coach just for you.
